Nostalgia #76: Golden Majestic Sunset

I dug my my old archive and this is what I found out. I think that the Halloween itself is a nostalgia for me. I feel nostalgic today, I just am.

I so love the sunset. It gives me a soothing, calming and different experience whenever I see sunset.

Every time you wake up and ask yourself, What good things am I going to do today? remember that when the sun goes down at sunset, it will take a part of your life with it.

Polecats Manila

I thought that I would never have a chance in my whole life to try pole dancing. I did it for a few seconds maybe, but at least I tried how it felt like to be at the pole dance flat form. I could just imagine how it takes to be a pole dancer. It needs a lot of discipline, time, effort and ultimate dedication to be one.

When I first watched Ciara Sotto did the pole dancing, I was totally amazed by her jaw dropping performance and was impressed with her graceful moves. Now there's pole dancing for men too. That's not really new, I think that pole dancing is a sport, only a bit sexier than the usual kind of sport.

Are you a game fan?

Okay, let's talk about the cyber space. You might have too many accounts online. Oftentimes, you forgot to realize that you still have your real world outside it. Have you signed an account that will remind you of the contacts that you might have neglected for quite sometime now? Ask G, there might be another account exclusively for this, to monitor and manage the important people in your list. This is not an addiction, but rather a smooth way to interact in an online world.

Another one in cyber is an online game for your PC. Take a sneak peak of Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3. You surely will get another hype with this game once you have installed it. If you are a game fan and haven't heard about it yet, then check it out now for something might be wrong with you if you have missed it.

My swollen elbow, sign of Bursitis?

I have been experiencing pain with my right elbow for many days now. It started two weeks ago when I waited for almost an hour to meet my daughter at school, holding a heavy paper bag with my right hand with stuff inside it. From that day on, I started to feel the pain and it is getting worse everyday. I feel that it's the "funny bone" and the joints that connect it that are swollen.

I asked G about my swollen elbow. I am not sure though about this pain, but with all the symptoms I've got, it is a clear sign that I'm having a bursitis, a non particular form of rheumatism. Bursitis needs medical attention giving many options like non surgical and surgical treatment. For non surgical treatment, changes of activity, elbow pads and medications are needed. While for surgical treatment, surgical procedure is needed to completely heal the elbow.

Now I am irritated and can't stay long in front of PC despite the pads that I put in my elbow. I also use stress ball to exercise my hands and closing my fist hurts me even more. Maybe, the best treatment is to rest my hands for a while now. I can still stay online but only for a limited time.

Technology Jobs for the Future

Some of you might have already read the news about about the seven gadgets that mostly will vanish by 2020 including the GPS, cellphones, video games and others. See how technology changes so quickly and improves rapidly that we're even left behind discovering new gadgets every month. It just means that in the next decades, new and powerful technology are coming out again. Who would have thought that tablets will become a trend in a tech world today? That fast, that the people have to replace their gadgets more often these days.

For the fast paced technology, jobs related to this seem to be in demand in the next few years or should I say today. A list of jobs at www.UDig.com is just a proof that we are already entering a digital age. Employers will most likely hire those who are skilled in computers and those who think faster and digital like that of robots.

I hope that inventions in the next ten or twenty years will focus on climate change. I think more studies should be given on how technology will improve it. I also hope that there are more inventions to make life easier for us. Well, I guess some do experience it now, my only wish is that, it becomes affordable to everyone.

Sponge Cola's 4th Album Araw Oras Tagpuan

Hold on readers. This is just a teaser of my post for Sponge Cola Blogger's Night. Let me just share you the photos last night at the event and the songs that have been a part of me all these years. For the full story, please click here.

In 2002, the year Sponge Cola was born, a bootlegged copy of their version of Madonna's Crazy For You ended up in Internet and became an underground hit. Many people think it's original. Because of this and the popularity it created, they pushed original songs to the forefront to remove the stigma of being a cover band.

Sponge Cola's Three Best Selling Album

Palabas (2004)
Transit (2006)
Sponge Cola (2008)

Only one of the few bands that couldn’t help but hit, Sponge Cola went on to producing chart-topping singles such as KLSP, Gemini, Jeepney, Bitiw, Tuliro, Movie, Pasubali, Puso, Ayt!, Makapiling Ka, Di Na Mababawi and so on.

Just recently, Sponge Cola’s Tambay (EP) earned the band a diamond record in sales.

The band released its newest and 4th album Araw Oras Tagpuan. Armo said they just wanted to create something that strings their ideas on space, time, fate and choice together.

Araw Oras Tagpuan consists of 12 tracks that include massive hits Tambay, Regal and the new hit single Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay. Other songs included are Walang Wakas which became the theme song of ABS-CBN’s series Wansapanatym: Rod Santiago’s Buhawi Jack; New Steel which features Paolo Valenciano of Salamin, Ria Redulla, and Los Magno of Out of Body Special; and Warning featuring Norma Love, Iwa Motor, and Mowmow of Tanya Markova.

The album Araw Oras Tagpuan is out now in all major record bars nationwide under Universal Records.

Trivia. The group got their name after R.S. Surtee's Mr. Sponge's Sporting Tour. They won several competitions that made them popular. Soon after that, they learned that there's an existing band using the same name. Instead of changing their band name, they decided to just add a word and keep the name since they were already known and related to Sponge. And why Cola? Yael said that Cola is an everyday thing for Filipino and this word is easy enough to remember, thus named their band Sponge Cola.

A Natural Gardener

If I am not blogging, probably I am busy gardening right now. I started blogging as a hobby and if there is one hobby that you could also turn into business, I think it would be gardening. I love to grow plants but it is impossible right now because we have no space for it. This is what I miss living in an urban area where gardening happens only in online and virtual world.

I always blog about how envy I am with my sister who lives away from the city. She can grow flowery and fruit bearing plants like tomato, okra and lemon when she wants right in front and at the back of her house. My sister is a natural gardener and only wish garden gifts on her birthday. Seeing flowery plants brings good luck and positive vibes in the house.

Unlike before where her tools are not complete like boots and clothing, today she already has most of them including the gloves to protect her hands. She learned it from me to think that I'm only gardening in my virtual life. When everything turns into reality, definitely, I would start my own garden and would pick orchids and flowery plants first to grow in my own yard.

Experience Luxury Living at The Richmonde Hotel

During Parentin.Tv event, we toured inside the hotel and check hotel's room, facilities and amenities. We checked everything from ground floor to the gym at the top floor. The hotel is newly constructed and the facilities are quite in excellent condition.

Once you enter the lobby, you will see the carpeted hallways and the very accommodating staff ready to serve you any time. The rooms are spacious with modern lightings, plasma TV and comfortable chair and desk to work for those who are doing business in town. The excellent view awaits the guest overlooking the busy city of Eastwood.

The hotel staff toured us to the top floor where fitness center is located. Unfortunately, it was raining so hard that day so we were not able to peek in their swimming pool at the 39th floor but I could see from the place we were standing the relaxing moment once you dip yourself into the pool and a gym with great equipment too.

With the resident chef who prepared food for us at the hotel, to say he is just good is understatement with an excellent presentation of food, from breakfast, lunch, dessert and snack.

Transportation is easy. Going home and getting a cab from the hotel took me only a few seconds to wait.

This hotel is full of class with all the staff ready to serve you at all times.

Preparedness and Safety Measures

I recently posted an article about climate change and the importance of being ready during and after the disaster. If you are trapped inside your house during the storm, you should always remember all the given tips including the emergency numbers to contact in case the flood comes and the need to evacuate in a safer and higher ground. Government agencies have advised public about the things to keep inside your home like canned goods, drinking water and portable radios to keep updated when the storm comes.

Have you noticed the calamities like floods, flash floods, tsunamis, earthquake happening around the world lately? We really cannot tell when these calamities are going to happen but we can at least keep ourselves safe by being prepared and alert when these occur in a very unexpected place and time.

Andi Eigenmann on her Pregnancy

I watched Andi Eigenman few days ago while being interviewed by Boy Abunda. She is so happy with her life right now despite the controversies. She was able to cope up everything because of all the love and support from her family. She wears a a very fashionable outfit and carried herself well. When asked about her pregnancy, she told Boy, "It's a blessing from God, and I'm very much honored."

Andi wears a very elegant outfit when she appeared on TV the other night. She can be a very good model for maternity dresses. You can see the aura in her face that she is contended with her life now. With all the talent that Andi possesses which has been proven it in her past shows and movies, she definitely will make a big comeback after giving birth. She is now on her eighth-month and is expected to deliver a baby a month from now. I believe that she inherited genes from her parents who are well known for their versatility and acting skills.

Nostalgia: #74: Swimming at the Fishpond

I am posting a story with connection to my entry to Johnson's Growing Up Fast moment. It describes an incident which portrays the swimming skills that my younger daughter was trying to show. Read on.

Many years back, we attended a birthday party of a distant relative in Bulacan. I am not sure though when and what year it was. In the place where we went to, there was a fish pond with colorful Coi and Japanese fishes that delighted and thrilled the eyes of my younger daughter. The moment she saw it, she couldn't stay out of it and wanted to catch all the fishes at the pond. Knowing an active kid that she'd always been, I kept my eye on her and reminded her to stay few steps away from the pond but she didn't listen and even asked for a fish net and played with it.

I stayed at her back all time trying to pull her away from the pond whenever she attempted to come closer to the fish. I let her hold the net and played with it for a while. To my surprise, she slipped off and fell into the fishpond. I rushed to dive, swim err, went down to knee-deep pond and got her out of the water. Good thing the pond was just as high as her waist. I saw her face turned into a big surprise that moment.

It was a little bit funny and I wanted to laugh after a while. If it were the time of my blogging moment, probably, I would take a picture first before saving her from the pond to document that spectacular moment in her life. Half kidding. I took her out of the pond first no matter how deep or shallow the water is.

She was giggling and laughing in the first photo and the second was, when she was trying to catch the fish. I didn't actually know we have these photos. We enjoyed that moment and went home late. My share this week for Nostalgia.

Human Heart Nature - Genuinely Natural

I always think that the cause of my parents' early death were the products and food that they consumed while they're still living. They both died of cancer. My father was a heavy smoker while my mother worked abroad and I always thought that the products around them contributed a lot to have caused their early deaths. It made me realize how products affect our health in general.

These days, people become so wise. Consumers also become very smart in choosing the product before they actually try. When Human Heart Nature was introduced to us during Blogapalooza event, I became interested because of its natural ingredients. Before purchasing any product, I usually read the label and check the ingredients first.

One product that is always present inside my bag is a sanitizer. Surely, there are lots of sanitizers available now in the market but it is always the effectiveness and the ingredients that we should always consider before trying them. I'm glad that Human Nature offers a sanitizer with 100% No Harmful Ingredients with a very refreshing smell like Citrus Burst. The smell is not irritating nor too strong. Besides, All Spray Sanitizer is an all around sanitizer. You can use it as a room spray, a toilet seat cleaner or as a hand sanitizer. This is available in two sizes; 50ml for P64.75
and 200ml for P189.75 only. With all the natural ingredients and effectiveness, the product is still very much affordable to everyone. Always choose the product with natural ingredients. Choose Human Nature. I highly recommend this product. Whenever we go out, I always make sure I have this in my bag.

Another product from Human Heart Nature that I really love is the Natural Lip Balm. This is available in Tutti-Frutti, Peppermint and Choco Fudge. You wouldn't want to apply the crude oil for your lips right? Oh well, other women never realized that the lip balms and lipsticks they use contain petrolatum, mineral oil and paraffin, synthetic chemicals that are extracted from crude oil. That's the big difference as compared to Human Heart Nature. Human Nature Lip Balm is made only with the finest blend cocoa butter and pure plant oils. The next time you buy a lip balm, check only the natural. Buy only Human Heart Nature products.

Let us support Philippine made product. Support Human Nature 100% Pinoy product!

JOHNSON’s My Kid’s Growing Up So Fast Contest

Two years ago, I let my kid to participate at the Science Camp held in Laguna. Since I was scared to let her go on her own, I accompanied her and joined the camp too. Although at times, I let her alone and kept a distance, still, I can't help but kept on eye to her because it gave me some worries that she might dive into a deep pool or climb in the giant slide.

my kid's growing up so fast..
"Can I just try the giant slide?"

Because she really loves to swim and I know that it will give her so much fun, I enrolled her in a swimming class. Today, she already finished the basic and advanced swimming lessons and is now working on to improve her techniques and speed. She already knew freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. She wants to be a swimmer someday. As a supportive mother that I always am, I make it a point that her skin is protected even if she's exposed much into sunlight by preparing everything that she needs in her swimming like sunblock, fresh juice and water to freshen her up and Johnson's Baby Milk Bath to keep her skin moisturize. The water in the pool easily dries up her skin so I always make it a point to include Johnson's Baby Milk Bath in her swimming back pack.

She is changing before my eyes but her skin is still like a baby’s. We still need the gentle care of JOHNSON’s Baby Milk Bath, with Vitamins A&E and 100% more milk proteins to nourish developing skin.

Caught her about to take a shower as she always did before and after her swimming lesson. From her first bath and until now, I trust only Johnson's Baby Milk Bath. I know that she needs it even more today, now that her skin is exposed into sunlight and chlorinated pool.

She's growing up so fast that I need to buy her again a new swimwear because the one that I bought a month ago doesn't fit her anymore. Even the swimming cap have to be in adult size because the junior size always left a mark on her forehead after the swimming. I have invested so much in her swimming but I don't care about how much I have already spent in buying her the basic needs like, swimwear, sunblock, swimming cap, kick board, goggles and other swimming stuff. I know that she's enjoying her swimming and that's all that matters most to me. She is determined to be a swimmer and before I knew it, she already is competing in this sports. Mommy is blogging here by the way.

And here's another good news to all my dear readers! Guess what? Johnson's have something special for you. You can be a part of this contest by just leaving a comment here.

One (1) gift pack will be given to all Bloggers with entries to be given to their community member (commenter).

Here's how:

1. Comment on the post and leave a caption in my daughter's 1st photo above. Try to be unique and creative.

2. Like Johnson's Baby World of Firsts Facebook page to be able to qualify in the commenter's contest!

Comment will be judged according to the following criteria: Creativity of Title (cuteness of the title) 50%, Unique play of words (relevance): 50%
Bloggers will work with the agency team to verify fan status of commenter.

Join now! Commenter winner will be decided upon by October 28, 2011 at 11:59pm.

Nostalgia: #73: Growing up so fast

Last week, Nuffnang emailed me to join Johnson's My Kid's Growing Up So Fast contest. I couldn't join the contest because I was having a blogger's block. All my posts were product reviews and events that I have attended lately. Few days ago, Nuffnang reminded me of the contest again but I really couldn't squeeze-in creative juices and I find it hard to publish a more decent post.

Today, I think otherwise. I should have joined the contest because the swim wear that I bought a month ago doesn't fit my daughter anymore and it costs much $$. She's growing up too fast. See my post here. I am not complaining but rather surprised how she's grown up, really fast. Seeing my daughter swims in different strokes just reminds me how she started two years ago, swimming in a wrong stroke. Today, she already knew freestyle, backstroke, breast stroke and butterfly. Her coach believed that she could be a swimmer someday with few polishing, speed and techniques to improve. I am not aiming her to be a swimmer but if it leads her to, why not? I think that swimming is sure a lot of fun to her more than health benefits. Oh girl, I should enroll myself in a swimming lesson too with all the floods happening around the globe.

Ever greater exploitation of virtualization is a key element in these efforts, and the deployment of flexible and intelligent storage systems is frequently the key to successful efforts," said Richard Villars, vice president of storage and IT Strategies at IDC. "Dell's continued investment in advanced yet cost effective storage solutions along with a continued expansion of its enterprise service and solutions organization, puts the company in a strong position to help IT organizations get the most from their data centers, today, and in the future."

Dell Compellent Features 16Gbps Fibre Channel Infrastructure Interoperability

Dell has successfully demonstrated compatibility between a Dell Compellent Storage Center SAN with Brocade 6510 16Gb Fibre Channel switch and Brocade 1860 16Gb Fabric Adapter. Dell will continue to build on its leadership in enterprise storage by introducing 16Gbps Fibre Channel offerings. This new technology will help customers unleash the power of their SAN environments to support next-generation applications and cloud services. This increased performance will provide organizations investment protection and a future-ready infrastructure capable of overcoming the challenges of enormous data growth. By combining Dell's Fluid Data architecture with Brocade's 16Gbps Fibre Channel infrastructure, Dell is delivering high performing SAN solutions that empower customers to stay at the leading edge of technology.

New Dell EqualLogic Unified Storage Extends Fluid Data Architecture

In support of customers’ growing storage demands, Dell has begun shipping the new EqualLogic FS7500, the company’s latest NAS solution that works with EqualLogic PS Series arrays to deliver the only scale-out, unified storage platform for mid-size deployments. The EqualLogic FS7500 uses the Dell Scalable File System, a high-performance, clustered file system based on Dell intellectual property. The Dell Scalable File System architecture incorporates features formerly found only at the very high end including advanced caching, load balancing and multithreading for fast I/O processing. This is the first step toward Dell’s long-term vision of a uniquely feature-rich, highly-scalable file system.

Customers consolidating applications onto a unified platform are demanding improved flexibility, to react to unanticipated changes in their application environment; flexibility not delivered by legacy unified solutions. As the EqualLogic unified storage platform provides online capacity and performance scaling for both file and block interfaces, customers can easily scale their platform in any dimension to meet business requirements.
