All-out family fun in the sun with Smart Parenting

Summer time is here! Smart Parenting gives you a head start on enjoying the season with your family with tons of fun activities and ideas. In the April issue of Smart Parenting, find out the top 10 local beach spots for a perfect family vacation and ways to teach your kids to learn and love swimming.

With the perfect sunshine to match your family fun time by the beach or pool, it is best to know how you can keep your child’s skin protected from all the sun damage. Smart Parenting gives you tips on applying sunscreen on your child’s skin and answers common real life situations that make the application a wee bit of a challenge.

Superstar cover mom Lea Salonga Chien shares to Smart Parenting how she keeps her lovely daughter Nicole occupied while also enjoying the summer season. As Lea is taking a quick break from her rollercoaster schedule, she found herself signing up her daughter for summer activities like child swimming and summer school.

“She loves swimming the most. We slather on the sunscreen, but she tans so easily. She’s so dark!” exclaims Lea. As Nicole takes her afternoon swimming class, Lea quietly sits by the pool. “Enjoy din ako. I listen to music, I surf the Internet, [and] I have a cup of coffee while waiting for her. It’s a nice environment. I get to meet other moms who are doing the same thing,” she says.

Also in this month’s issue is a complete guide on how you can maximize the season with your kids. Build and strengthen that family bond while traveling and even when you’re on a stay-cation. Smart Parenting, which comes bundled with the latest issue of National Geographic Little Kids, is available in newsstands, bookstores, and supermarkets nationwide for only P125.
