Half-begging, half protest post. I am begging my friend that we watch "The Reo Brothers Band" in their live performance. They perform every Tuesdays at Primos Cuisine and Lounge, Greenfield District! I am posting this in bold letters so she reads clearly the message.
When words are interpreted differently, they produce a different meaning. A song with good lyrics and pure intention can be meaningless when your heart is not listening to it.
Adik Sa 'Yo by Rivermaya, when sang by another artist like Daniel Padilla on its cover, loses its meaning which is intended only for their generation. So I say sorry to Padilla. I am not a fan. I really couldn't take this song when interpreted by another artist other than Bamboo then of Rivermaya.
You know I'm a big fan when I blog about a band, an artist or celebrity. So here's another video that I kept playing since the day I watched them on TV during ABS-CBN Solidarity Concert "Kwento ng Pasko."
They are from Tacloban and just moved here in Manila after the super typhoon hit their town. Now I'm having LSS again. They perform cover versions of Beatles, BeeGees, Letterman and more of 60s and 70s hits.
Here's the video of the Reo Brothers courtesy of ABS CBN Online.
I was searching online for famous singers of 1950s but that searching ended me to Oleta Adams and that also leads me to her song "Get Here." That stuck in my head and seems that I can't stop singing and humming the tune. I am so in LSS with the song that I can't help but press the replay button over and over again.
And to break the monotony of my blog, here pasting the lyrics and embed You Tube of "Get Here" from her 1990 album's Circle of One. Among the songs of Adams are; I Just Had to Hear Your Voice, Everything Must Change, Rhythm of Life, Many Rivers to Cross, We Will Meet Again and Baby, I'll Come When You Call.
Oleta Angela Adams
was born on May 4, 1953 (age 60)
at Seattle, Washington, United States. Adams was the daughter of a preacher and was raised listening to gospel music. In her youth her family moved to Yakima, Washington, which is sometimes shown as her place of birth. Like many African American female singers, she got her musical start in the black church.
Before gaining her opportunity to perform, Adams faced a great deal of rejection. In the 1970s, she moved to Los Angeles, California where she recorded a demo tape. However, many music executives were exclusively interested in disco music rather than Adams' preferred style.
With the advice of her singing coach, Lee Farrell, Adams moved to Kansas City where she did a variety of local gigs. Adams started her career in the early 1980s with two self-financed albums which had limited success.
I got this video from YouTube when my friend Reena tweeted the link. Thought about posting this video here just before 2012 ends.
Life's a Happy Song
Everything is great everything is grand
I got the whole wide world in the palm of my hand
Everything is perfect its falling into place
I cant seem to wipe this smile off my face
Life's a happy song when there's someone by my side to sing along
When your alone life can be a little rough
It makes you feel like your 3 feet tall
When its just you times can be tough
When there's no one there to catch your fall
Everything is great everything is grand
I got the whole wide world in the palm of my hand
Everything is perfect its falling into place
I can't seem to wipe this smile off my face
Life smells like a rose with someone to ping
with someone to pose
Lifes like a piece of cake with someone to pedal
Someone to break
Life is full of glee with someone to saw
and someone to see
Life's a happy song when theres someone by my side to sing along
Ive got everything that I need right in front of me
Nothings stopping me
Nothing I can't be
with you right here next to me
Life's a piece of cake with someone to give and someone to take
Life's a piece of pie with someone to wash and someone to dry
Life's an easy road with someone with you to share the load
Life's full of highs with someone to stir
and someone to fry
Life's like a lamb and someone to lend a hand
Life's a bunch of flowers with someone a while to lay the hours
yes it is
Life's a happy song when theres someone by your side to sing along
I was browsing videos of old rock and folk band as I was already "umay." (is there such a perfect translation for this word, Google suggests "fed up", uhmm, I don't think it fits..) with Korean hits and found this rare video of ASIN, as they performed on Myx Live Performance.
Asin is a Pinoy folk and folk rock band from the Philippines formed in 1977. They started as a trio in the late 1970s, and was originally known as the Salt of the Earth. They later changed their name to "ASIN", which means salt in Filipino language.

I hope that another great artist like Tracy Chapman shines the world today. Found this video on You Tube. Tracy Chapman also performed the hit "Fast Car." Simply Amazing!
"Baby Can I Hold You" is the third single released by the American contemporary folk artist Tracy Chapman, released in late 1988. The song reached the top fifty in the United States
In 1997, the Irish boy band Boyzone released a cover of "Baby Can I Hold You" as a double A-side with the non-album track "Shooting Star". "Baby Can I Hold You" thus became their second single from their third studio album, Where We Belong. The single, like "Picture of You" before it, peaked at #2 on the official UK singles chart and stayed in the top 75 for fourteen weeks.

When doing my task online, I always put my headset on and listen to my old favorite song. I love 70s, 80s and up to this generation but whenever I hear thissong, I can't help but feel nostalgic. It always brings back old times. Memory gap can't stop me to remember the hit that Beatles made in 70s.
"The Long and Winding Road" is a ballad written by Paul McCartney (credited to Lennon/McCartney) that originally appeared on The Beatles' album Let It Be. It became The Beatles' 20th and last number-one song in the United States on 23 May 1970, and was the last single released by the quartet. "The Long and Winding Road" was listed with "For You Blue" as a double-sided hit when the single hit number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1970. (source: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
McCartney originally wrote the song at his farm in Scotland, and was inspired by the growing tension among the Beatles. McCartney said later:
“
I just sat down at my piano in Scotland, started playing and came up with that song, imagining it was going to be done by someone like Rey Charles. "I have always found inspiration in the calm beauty of Scotland and again it proved the place where I found inspiration."
The video is not mine. I used to blog this in my old Friendster account. I'm feeling nostalgic with this song from Beatles. What music makes you feel nostalgic?

Pay tribute to all mothers around the world. You are blessed if you have your mom around you now. I was in my early 20s when my mother died. If you have mom around you now, hug her, kiss her and tell her how much you love her.
A Mother's Love - Jim Brickman & Mark Masri
Thank you for watching over me all of the sleepless nights you lay awake Thank you for knowing when to hold me close and when to let me go Thank you for every stepping stone and for the path that always leads me home I thank you for the time you took to see the heart inside of me
CHORUS You gave me the roots to start this life And then you gave me wings to fly And I learned to dream Because you believed in me Theres no power like it on this earth No treasure equal to its worth The gift of a mothers love
Thank you for every sunlit day that fill the corners of my memory Thank you for every selfless unsung deed I know you did for me Thank you for giving me the choice to search my soul til i could find my voice And I thank you for teaching me to be strong enough to bend
CHORUS

I can't get over with the concert last night. I watched PGT You Got It Concert and Jovit Baldivino made the opening number in the reunion concert. This young man impressed me more with what he had shown last night in his rock star voice performing Bon Jovi's hits. He also played the guitar in his acoustic duet with Yeng Constantino. I think it was his first time to perform in a big stage not as a contestant but a real artist. Way to go Jovit!
