A Vacation Worth Every Penny

Spend money on experiences than material things. Happiness on material things fade quickly while experiences  go up with time.

One thousand four hundred miles  across  of  mountains,  highways, canyons and beautiful sight  made our  2017 summer  a  vacation that is worth every penny.   I have no bucketlist to tick of the places I wanna be  because there's a lot on my mind that wanders and wonders everytime.

The above photo is from Park City.  I'm caught again between work and time and uploading photos take a lot of process by mobile.  Sitting in my draft page is another travel to add to my hundreds of backlogs,   hoping to publish soon when I get hold of  my new tool to blog.

Coming Back for More of City of Pines

Baguio is a place I will never get tired of  visiting.  Aside from the cold climate and beautiful sight, the city is also known  for its  rich history.   I've  been  to Baguio  for  the  nth time but still I get amazed and excited  like it was my  first  every  time.   In this visit,  we explored the not so usual spot  that  tourists often  missed.  We discovered  places  that  we only  read from other  bloggers  and travelers'  stories.   We stayed in transient homes  where guests are allowed to cook so it was  not  really  the  trip where meals are done  in  fast food,  restaurant  or  served inside the hotel.   Our  recent  trip  has many discoveries and  many  firsts experiences.  In  my coming  post,  it would be a series of  our  Baguio trip  from day 1 to day 3.  And because  we visited more than 20 tourist spots,   I'll be posting them in separate post,   coming in my next entries.

For strawberry alone, I can give  you  more reasons  to come back to the City of Pines,   Baguio City  that  is.   No  wonder,  Baguio is still the Summer Capital of the Philippines.   Here's a little bit of  Pines City  and why  I call the place a  city of  strawberry  too.

And  my  take  home  Strawberry  from Baguio  is now waiting  to squeeze in some juice and toppings for my sinigang.


Baguio City,  known as City of Pines   is located in the province of Benguet in northern Luzon. Some of famous tourist spots are Mines View Park, Strawberry Farm, Camp John Hay,  Burnham Park, Botanical Garden and more.  It  is about  six hours drive  from  Manila  with  about  250 kilometers  distance via Kennon Road  or  longer via Marcos Highway now known as Aspiras Highway.

Escape from Weekend Stress

So today is another busy weekend for me. For one stay at home mom, Saturday is a home-chores day where laundry, cooking and all duties always seem to be endless. As usual, my morning starts with a cup of coffee. At 9 am, I accompanied my daughter to her swimming lesson but it lasted for only an hour because her coach is busy for the coming national competition which will be tomorrow. Although we have enough time in the afternoon to go out malling or dining, we opted to just stay home because the budget is kind of tight these days. I cannot anymore tighten my belt as it is already tightened and extended to its maximum limit. I wish that I can spend a weekend with no home chores, mom duties and budget to think about.

I sometimes wish for Boating Holidays Norfolk Broads. A boat holidays could be relaxing and just imagining the picturesque scenery right now makes my mind refreshed. How I wish I can escape my everyday life even for once. During my husband's two week vacation, we were not able to spend at least one quality out of town trip by which my children have been dreaming for quite a long time now. Sigh. I hope that during their school break, probably before the second semester begins, this vacation will push through even for a simple get away.

A Vacation to Remember

I immediately replied to a vacation link that my friend sent me. I really want to take a vacation together with my whole family but of course there are some reasons that I had to consider. The budget is one factor that I had to say no. Some of my fellow bloggers are smart enough to book themselves into a luxury vacation at a very affordable price. Backpack travelers avail a big discount since they book their holidays in group. I want to take a Caribbean trip if I have the means. Another long weekend is awaiting us but we cannot go somewhere else. The weather is not good to go out. There are quite good deals but the many factors that affect my decision are obviously on its way out to stop us and stay at home the whole weekend.

I don't have any plan yet but definitely we'll be going out somewhere else away from the city in a place where we can stay for a week or at least three days with nothing to think about but to refresh our minds and rejuvenate our bodies. Holiday Break

What are you up to this summer? I guess everyone is now gearing up for summer and planning how and where to spend their vacation. I started browsing travel pages, looking for the most affordable package but worth to stay. We're planning to spend for at least two or three days up north. I want to stay in a hotel or maybe inquire for a Villa holiday like vacation or even just similar to this package at this early time. I guess this is the ideal holiday break for my children. They want to stay just anywhere else as long as they're out from the noise of the city.

Vacation Wishlist

If you wish to spend a holiday, where do you want to go? My wish would be in Venice and if I'd be given a chance, a simple holiday with family in an apartment would be fine with me. For now, I could only dream of a holiday but definitely not very soon, not even in locals and too impossible in Europe. I have too many wishes and vacations in my mind but hey, a wish list is a wish. Is it summer yet? I just read on many people's update about their summer plans. Oh well, I think it is not really too early to plan for it. Time flies freaking fast and before we knew it, summer has already gone. The first month of the year is almost over, see! Better yet plan your summer ahead of time and book an early flight to avail discount and other special package for family vacation. I can't afford a luxury one so I might just look for a local trip instead. Other people are planning to spend their vacations in Cottages in Cornwall. You know how we all love summer and I just can't wait for that time to come again. I'm seriously starting to lose weight and when I say I'm serious, I really mean it. One anonymous reader left a comment why I kept blogging about my diet but nothing really change for years. Ok, don't criticize me yet, I'm still working on my diet. You'll see me in my summer dress this time, in summer, I swear.

Island Vacation

I received an email today about a vacation offering a big discount. I have been blogging about vacation lately but this one just caught my attention. The cottages are so tempting as attached in my email. Too many choices of vacation whichever you want for a break. I wish I can book myself right now but thinking about other tasks plus the budget makes me sigh and wish I have all the means to grab this offer. Holiday in a cottage is so tempting. For one travel enthusiast, such offer is one great vacation that he/she surely wouldn't want to miss. I wish I could share it here now. You sure will be amazed by the view too. The kind of privacy and peacefulness in one of the cottages are just so inviting. I can only dream of living there permanently because I am sure, I won't be going back home once I set my foot on the island. By just looking at the picture, a three days/two nights stay is not even enough for a package.

Holidays

You feel it is Christmas when you read the updates about shopping, vacation and events all over the net. I have been blogging about Christmas for the last two months but until this time I haven't yet bought anything for me and my kids. Budget is too tight this month but I'm happy anyway. I can stretch my little earnings and I have this means to make both ends meet. My kids school party will be next week and so this weekend we'll be going again to mall and buy them clothes. Children have been waiting for this date to come and I can't spoil their excitement to wear new dress this Christmas. It comes only once in a year anyway. I'll set aside grand vacation like canal holidays or cruise but when I have enough money I will surely book a grand holidays for us.

Holidays

While other people are now starting to do shopping for their Christmas list, my friend abroad is now busy preparing for this coming holidays. She and her family are planning to spend vacation on a place where they can spend quality time together. Cruise Vacation

Few days from now, my little daughter will be celebrating her 10th birthday. I have yet to think of what to give on her big day. I already had my list of food to prepare. It will be a simple celebration and my daughter told me that she will invite her five best friends. I was thinking this morning of giving her something that will make her happy but I was caught by surprise when she told me that when she gets older and has her own job, she will give me a celebrity cruises vacation. I was of course overwhelmed to hear that from a ten year old little girl. I never really had any idea about how it felt like to be in a cruise but I know it would be much fun. I can just imagine a cruise ship with exquisite food, shopping and spa services. Even it is still far from now, hearing those words from my little girl is something I would cherish and wish that someday her plans will come true.

Summer Holiday

Without doubt, summer is the best time of the year for my two kids. The two have their own plan of where to go vacation this coming summer. I have planned our summer vacation already but my two kids have their own preference on where to spend summer. I want a tourist spot or historical place to visit but since my children seem to like beach vacation like holiday parks uk, I will just inquire now of how much I will spend for a package trip then. Our next family outing would be my treat for my daughter as a birthday gift too. We will start planning as early as possible to avail of promotional package and spend less on vacation. Two-day vacation is not enough for me but planning ahead of time will make our vacation becomes memorable.

would  i allow  junks  at home. i'm a spoiler but i'm a disciplinarian too. watching dvds in pyjamas, in a high cool room, is life for them. spending vacation their way at home. this sem break is an exception. it's a break from school and  stress anyway!

Kids Holidays

We're not going out this weekend and will just do some review for coming exam this week. Since Halloween is just few days from now, we'll just wait for long weekend break from school and take a vacation somewhere, a beach, a resort or holiday in theme park. If I can afford to give kids holidays, then I will book right away and choose the best one that my children will truly enjoy no matter how much I will spend for it. I think they deserve a long vacation too. Kids also experience stress from school not only adults so they needed some rest or off from any pressure. Although weekend was declared as no assignment day, still, they review a lot and do extra activities like advance studying to catch up the lesson for the week.
